TMG books into Anger Management

German distributor Tele München Group (TMG) will sell Charlie Sheen’s new comedy Anger Management into Central Europe following a deal with Lionsgate International.

TMG has acquired rights to the show – Sheen’s first since his departure from Two and a Half Men in 2011 – for Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.

Anger Management is loosely based on the 2003 film of the same name starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. Sheen plays an ex-baseball pro who seeks treatment for his anger issues.

Joe Roth exec produces with Sheen and head writer and showrunner Bruce Helford. It is produced by Lionsgate Television.

The series has previously been sold into Canada (CTV) and Latin America (Turner Broadcasting System).

Shooting begins on March 19 and will air on US cablenet FX in June. FX has committed to a 100-episode order, based on the first 10 episodes exceeding a certain ratings level.
