Atomic Cartoons, the kids and family division of Canadian studio Thunderbird Entertainment, has named former Disney programming exec Kitty Walsh as executive director of development.

Kitty Walsh

Walsh will lead development across kids and family, sourcing and developing IP and working with the company’s creative partners to expand its slate. She will report to the joint VPs of Atomic Originals, Aaron Behl and Kristin Cummings.

In her prior role, Walsh was director of development at Disney Junior, working on titles including new series Robogobo and the special Mickey’s Tale of Two Witches. Her other credits while at Disney Junior include The Chicken Squad and Eureka!

In addition, Atomic promoted Rose Stacey to manager of development. Stacey, who was previously development coordinator, will work with Walsh to grow the development slate and bring in new IP.
