You Would Do It Too, a thriller series from US studio Legendary Television and Spanish prodco ESPotlight Media, has been picked up exclusively by Disney+ in Spain.
The 8×30’ Spanish-language series, created and written by David Victori (Sky Rojo) and Jordi Vallejo (The Innocent), is currently in production in various locations throughout Barcelona.
The coproduction is the first project to emerge from a partnership between Legendary Television and ESPotlight Media, inked two years ago. Outside of Spain, Legendary Television is handling worldwide sales on the show.
You Would Do It Too follows a pair of police officers who suspect that a group of witnesses might not be telling the truth in the aftermath of a deadly armed robbery. It stars Pablo Molinero and Ana Polvorosa, in addition to Michelle Jenner, José Manuel Poga, Paco Tous, Elena Irureta, Ana Wagener and Chechu Salgado.
Producers on the project, which is also directed by Victori, are ESPotlight Media’s Anxo Rodríguez and Legendary Television’s Anne Thomopoulos.
Over the past two years Legendary Television has looked to expand its international TV business, with Thomopoulos joining the company in early 2020 to lead its first foray into non-English-language series.
Other previously announced foreign-language projects from Legendary include heist drama Vanda, which is a Portuguese and Spanish coproduction between Legendary Television, SPi and La Panda Productions; and Drops of God, a coproduction between Legendary, LA-based Dynamic Television, France Télévisions and Hulu Japan. The latter project is a live-action adaptation of a bestselling Japanese manga series.
Earlier this year Legendary Television’s parent company Legendary Entertainment sold an undisclosed minority stake to private equity firm Apollo for US$760m.
