Thomas Kahr exits Warner Bros for format development role at Nordisk Film TV

Producer Thomas Kahr is leaving Warner Bros Entertainment on November 1 to take up a new role as head of formats at Banijay-owned Nordisk Film TV in Copenhagen.

Kahr has been appointed to speed up and refine format development at the Nordic prodco with a focus on developing original shows in reality, factual, lifestyle and current affairs.

“Thomas Kahr is a huge capacity with rock-solid experience as both a broadcaster, developer and as a producer,” Nordisk Film TV creative director Niels Lindberg said in a statement.

Kahr has worked on development and production for several companies as well as Warner Bros, including seven years at Discovery Networks Denmark, first as programme manager and later as a formats and development manager.

Format development at Nordisk Film TV is headed by creative director Niels Lindberg. Now Lindberg, Kahr and development producer William Abrahamsen will spearhead the company’s creative development of new content.

Nordisk Film TV produces over 1,500 hours of content each year including mainstream TV entertainment and documentaries.
