TFO gets colourful with Lopii

French-Canadian educational channel TFO has partnered with kids’ prodco Lopii Productions on a French-language series that showcases the stories of northern Ontario.

A 10×15’ live-action series aimed at 8- to 13-year-olds, #Couleurs Du Nord celebrates the identities of northern communities in Ontario and teaches viewers about the people who live there and their traditions.

Launching on TFO in autumn 2022, each episode will see Franco-Ontarian graffiti artist Mique Michelle work together with kids from a different community to create a mural featured in a public space.

Rennata Lopez, executive producer and co-founder of Lopii Productions, said: “#Couleurs Du Nord is a show that will showcase a large population of Canada that is currently not being represented – French speaking, indigenous and mixed heritage youth living in rural Ontario who have a voice and a story to tell.

“Through her collaborative, beautiful art and conversations with our host Mique Michelle, we hope to be able to feature and showcase Ontario’s diverse north.”
