Former Tetra Media Group executives Sébastien Borivent and Emmanuel Daucé have launched new France- and Africa-based production company, Babylone Studio.

The freshly minted outfit, to be headquartered in Paris and Abidjan, will make scripted drama, animated series and feature films.

Under the leadership of Daucé, Babylone Studios will leverage existing production activity in Africa through post-production facility and talent management agency, On Est Ensemble Productions (OEEP).

OEEP specialises in producing fiction and entertainment content throughout French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, allowing Babylone to access African actors, talent, crew and shared support functions.

At launch, Babylone has established an initial partnership with Hisia Films, headed by Sabine Barthélémy, producer of series such as Les Invisibles.

Borivent was the CEO of ITV Studios-owned Tetra Media Studio from 2012 to 2024 and is also the co-founder of OEEP.

Daucé, meanwhile, co-founded and led Tetra Media Fiction for 15 years, producing original series such as L’affaire Laura Stern, Paris Police and Vernon Subutex.

Borivent said: “With Babylone Studio, we want to combine artistic freedom, creative excellence, and industrial strength. Our ambition is to create powerful works that are rooted in their territories and capable of reaching far beyond borders.”

Daucé said: “We want to identify and support talented screenwriters, directors, and producers, respect their uniqueness, and offer them the means to fully express themselves in France and internationally: that is the raison d’être of Babylone Studio.”
