Televisa, Warner Bros extend ties

Mexican broadcaster Televisa has renewed its longterm output deal with Warner Bros International Television Distribution, extending its rights to properties including Gossip Girl and Smallville.

The new deal will start before the end of the year, providing Televisa with ongoing Mexican free-TV rights to other series including The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men.

The pact also cover rights to Warner Bros feature films including The Dark Night and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and will continue existing ties between the companies that have spanned five decades

Last month, Televisa picked up 110 hours of Scripps Network lifestyle programming from UK-based Passion Distribution.
