Telemadrid goes on The Search for gameshow format, Aragón TV adds kids’ spin-off

The Search is titled Sopa de Letras in Spain

Telemadrid in Spain has commissioned a regional version of gameshow The Search, while Aragón TV has ordered a kids’ spin-off of the same format.

Originally created by Youngest Media and Keshet International for Keshet 12 in Israel, The Search is a studio-based gameshow in which contestants race across a giant LED grid, tested on their trivia knowledge, quick thinking and teamwork to uncover answers below their feet before the time runs out.

Titled Sopa de Letras in Spain, regional Spanish versions of the format have already aired on Andalusia-based Canal Sur and Aragon-based Aragón TV.

Aragón TV has now commissioned Globomedia to produce a kids’ spin-off of the series, called Sopa de Letras Zagales, while Madrid-based Telemadrid is getting its own version of the show.

Keshet International distributes The Search globally, with six international adaptations having been produced so far, including in Uruguay and Belgium. The format is also currently under option in the UK, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Portugal, the Netherlands and Greece.
