Ted Lasso renewed for fourth season on Apple TV+, Jason Sudeikis to return as star

Apple TV+ has renewed its popular sports comedy Ted Lasso for a fourth season, with Jason Sudeikis set to return as star and executive producer.

Sudeikis will reprise his award-winning role as the titular American soccer coach working in the UK, this time leading a women’s team, according to the actor.

Emmy winner Jack Burditt (Nobody Wants This) will executive produce the new season under a new overall deal with Apple TV+.  Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel also exec produce, while Brett Goldstein writes and exec produces alongside Leanne Bowen. Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh are writers and producers for season four, and Sasha Garron is coproducer.

Julia Lindon will also write on the show, with Dylan Marron will serving as story editor. Bill Lawrence exec produces via his company Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer also exec produce.

The series was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, and is based on the pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports.
