TCB taps into TRX

TCB’s catalogue includes factual series Border Control

UK-based factual distributor TCB Media Rights has signed up to online TV rights portal The RightsXchange (TRX).

TCB has added some 1,400 hours of content to the online platform, adding its name to the 600 buyers and 110 global distributors that have already signed up.

The tool, devised by brothers Matthew and David Frank in 2015, enables rights deals to be competed online and allows distributors to reach buyers in new international markets, which in turn get access to rights that would otherwise have been difficult to secure.

Programme highlights from TCB’s catalogue include Border Patrol, Copy Cat Killers and Abandoned Engineering.

“We’ve been fans of TRX since the start, but we’re now better resourced as a business to be able to take advantage of its benefits to us. My colleagues are all very keen to get started and we expect TRX to deliver big time,” said TCB CEO Paul Heaney.

In April, US giant Lionsgate added content to TRX. Other high-profile firms to have signed up BBC Studios (fka BBC Worldwide) Sky Vision, All3Media, Cineflix, Off the Fence and Beta Films.

TRX CEO Matthew Frank said TCB had “been on our target list of distributors for some time now.”
