Talpa Studios, Studio Lambert look to take Golden Elevators to the top

The Golden Elevators will be produced in Belgium

Netherlands-headquartered unscripted format creator Talpa Studios (The Floor) and UK prodco Studio Lambert (Squid Game: The Challenge) are collaborating on a new psychological gameshow called The Golden Elevators.

The two companies will coproduce the format, which is described as a high-stakes quizshow where knowledge gets you in the game, but psychology decides who survives.

In the show, 10 contestants begin together in the lobby of a skyscraper, all chasing the same goal: reach the top floor and claim a rolling jackpot that starts at US$100,000 and can grow as the game unfolds.

The collaboration reunites Studio Lambert with Talpa chief creative officer Jasper Hoogendoorn, following their collaboration on international format success The Traitors.

The Golden Elevators will be produced at Talpa Studios’ international production hub in Belgium, with Talpa and Studio Lambert coproducing the format in the UK and US.

Talpa Studios is handling global distribution. No commissioning broadcaster or platform has yet been announced.

Hoogendoorn said: “We all believe in deceptively simple ideas that create genuine psychological depth and global appeal, and this powerful collaboration provides a strong platform to bring the format to the international market.”

Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, added: “The last time we collaborated with Jasper, the result was the US and UK versions of The Traitors, which have been spectacularly successful on both sides of the Atlantic.

“We think we have lightning in a bottle for the second time with The Golden Elevators, a show that combines the joy of a quiz with a psychological drama of trust and betrayal. We can’t wait to find the right home for it in America and Britain.”
