Talpa Studios’ quiz format The Floor reaches 20 countries after Scandi, Lat Am deals

MIPCOM: Recent deals in Finland, Denmark, Uruguay, Chile and Australia mean Talpa Studios’ quiz format The Floor has achieved a major milestone, reaching 20 countries just 18 months after its launch in the Netherlands.

The format has recently added five new territories, with the latest broadcasters to acquire the format being Finland’s MTV3, Denmark’s TV2, Uruguay’s Teledoce/Canal 12, Chile’s TVN and an as-yet undisclosed Australian network.

With these additions, The Floor is now spanning markets across North America, Europe, Latin America and Scandinavia, Talpa Studios said, with the company producing multiple international versions at its production hub in the Netherlands.

Originally launched on RTL4 in the Netherlands early in 2023, The Floor quickly gained traction in major markets such as the US (Fox), France (France 2), Spain (Antena 3 and La 1) and Germany (Sat.1). The format’s third season is currently airing in its home market.
