Talpa and Eureka Productions hope to roll over competition with The Quiz with Balls

LA- and Sydney-based unscripted label Eureka Productions is to adapt hit Dutch format De Kwis met Ballen (The Quiz with Balls) for the US market.

The gameshow was created by John de Mol’s Talpa in the Netherlands, where the first season debuted on SBS6 this summer.

It sees contestants competing for cash prizes in a battle of brains against balls, with players answering general knowledge questions. If they answer incorrectly too many times, a giant ball whacks them into a swimming pool.

Eureka and formats specialist Talpa have collaborated on several projects before, with Eureka producing quizshow The Floor for Fox in the US, and survival adventure series Million Dollar Island for Australia’s Seven Network.

No commissioning broadcaster in the US has been announced for The Quiz with Balls at this point.
