Talent show star turned exec Fisher upped at Wildflame to lead development

Wales-based factual indie Wildflame Productions has appointed Connie Fisher as its new head of development.

In her new role, she will lead the company’s push to expand Wildflame’s partnerships with international broadcasters worldwide as well as building on their existing business in the UK.

Fisher has worked at Wildflame since 2016 as a development executive and she will now join the company’s senior management team.

She will report to Paul Islwyn Thomas, CEO, Wildflame Productions, who said: “Connie is a rising star of the industry. During her time at Wildflame we have seen her become a key part of the team, largely due to her keen eye for fantastic talent and compelling stories.

Her credits at Wildflame so far include Michael Ball’s Wonderful Wales (C5), Katherine Jenkins: Home for Christmas (BBC) Carol Vorderman: Closer to Home and most recently Bafta Award-winning documentary Strictly Amy Dowden: Crohn’s & Me for the BBC.

Prior to joining Wildflame, Fisher was a prominent West End performer and the winner of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC One talent show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?. She also worked as a television presenter on shows such as BBC One’s Songs of Praise and Cardiff Singer of the World, before moving into production.
