Swedish pubcaster SVT and Danish prodco Miso Film are coproducing a TV adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s 2000 film Faithless.

The 6×45’ adaptation will be directed by Tomas Alfredson (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Let the Right One In) and written by Sara Johnsen. The plot follows a love triangle between a man, his best friend and the best friend’s wife.

The film of Faithless (Trolösa in Swedish) is loosely based on original writer Bergman’s experiences of adultery from his own life. Liv Ullman directed the film, which was entered into the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.
