SVT interacts with Kiwi thriller

MIPCOM: Swedish pubcaster SVT has picked up the format rights to an innovative multi-platform psychological thriller from New Zealand.

Swedish digital indie ART 89 will adapt Kiwi drama Reservoir Hill, distributed by DLT/Raydar Rights, into eight episodes for SVT.

The Emmy-winning drama, made by indie KHF Media for TVNZ, centres on a teenager who moves to a new town and becomes the victim of a series of unsettling events.

The series allows viewers to shape the story by texting advice to the central character, Beth, and influence the plot.

DLT/Raydar has international rights to both the format and finished version of the show, available as a TV movie or series of webisodes.

Separately, DLT/Raydar has sold 52 episodes of Nick Jr preschool show Olive the Ostrich, made by Blue-Zoo Productions, into 200 territories at Mipcom.

Also on its books is Magic Hands, a five-minute poetry-driven show for preschoolers made by Remark for the UK’s CBeebies. It mixes live-action with animation and incorporates sign language as well as the spoken word for both deaf and hearing children.
