Superprod appoints story head

Paris-based production company Superprod Animation has appointed an experienced animation story editor as its head of story.

Jean-Pierre Morillon has story edited animation series for prodcos and broadcasters including Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, the BBC, France’s TF1, Discovery Kids, Canal+, AMC Networks, Norway’s NRK, RTL Telekids in the Netherlands, Canada’s TeleQuebec and Thailand’s Thai TV3.

At Superprod, he will take charge of the literary development of the company’s animation TV series, projects and productions.

Clément Calvet and Jérémie Fajner, co-founders of Superprod, said: “The talent and extensive track record of Jean-Pierre will be most precious for the ambitious productions we are currently working on with leading broadcasters around the world.”

The company’s slate includes both adaptations of IP – such as That’s Joey (based on the bestselling comic books), Octopus’s Garden (by The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr) and Kid Paddle (the iconic video games-centred comic book property) – and original creations, including Osmond and My Spooky Family.
