Superprod adapts kids’ health book

The digital arm of French production company Superprod is adapting a popular book by local TV doctor Michel Cymes that explains to children how their bodies work.

Quand ça va, quand ça va pas. Leur corps expliqué aux enfants, et aux parents! (When I Feel Good, When I Don’t. The Body Explained to Children, and Their Parents!) is being adapted as a shortform animated series for digital platforms and TV channels.

Superprod Digital, which produces for new platforms such as VoD and social media, will make the series in two- to three-minute episodes.

The book aims to answer the simple questions children ask about their bodies, such as ‘Why do I have to blow my nose?’ and ‘Why do I have blonde hair and my neighbour black hair?’

Published in 2017, the book has gone on to sell tens of thousands of copies in France alone. Superprod will distribute the series worldwide.

“Well-being is about your mind and about your body – that’s also true for kids,” says Carole Brin, chief digital officer at Superprod. “We are delighted to work on a show that will take us through this with all the humour and the simplicity of the book.”
