Sunny Bunnies travel to US Hispanic streamers, Finland’s Nelonen

Sunny Bunnies comes from Digital Light Studio in Belarus

US Hispanic streamers PrendeTV and Canela.TV and Finnish broadcaster Nelonen have acquired animated preschool series Sunny Bunnies.

Produced by Belarus’s Digital Light Studio and distributed by London-based Media IM, Sunny Bunnies is a 3D-animated series about five colourful bunnies that can appear anywhere there is any light. Each episode follows the characters on new adventures in a new location.

Univision-owned AVoD platform PrendeTV, which was formed in March this year, will launch the first three seasons of the series later this summer in addition to 22-minute compilations of the show.

Fellow US Hispanic streamer Canela.TV, which launched last year, has also acquired the first three seasons of Sunny Bunnies under an AVoD/FAST deal.

Nelonen, meanwhile, has picked up the free-to-air rights for the first four seasons, along with the AVoD/SVoD rights for its streaming service Ruutu, where the series will launch later this year.

Elsewhere, Sky Kids in the UK has acquired season five of Sunny Bunnies and relicensed seasons three and four under a 24-month SVoD deal. TF1 in France has also picked up the fifth season for its AVoD and SVoD service, and extended the rights for season four until December 2022.
