Sundance goes back to Dream School

SundanceTV has commissioned a second season of Dream School from UK indie Fresh One Productions.

The format, which was created by TV chef Jamie Oliver via his prodco Fresh One for Channel 4 in the UK, takes some of the brightest minds from popular culture and employs them as teachers in a school for failing and troubled pupils.

The latest US version, which will air on AMC Networks’ SundanceTV (fka Sundance Channel) in the fall, will be executive produced by 50 Cent and will feature contributions from restaurateur David Chang, figure skater Johnny Weir and lawyer and rights activist Gloria Allred, among others.

Dream School (6×60’) will be produced in association with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Films and Television with Oliver executive producing alongside hip hop artist Chuck D, Andrew Jameson and Fresh One’s Roy Ackerman.

The first season of the US version was previously sold to Globosat in Brazil by UK-based Passion Distribution.
