Studio Ramsay appoints Lion exec

Gordon Ramsay’s UK production company has hired a chief creative officer from All3Media stablemate Lion Television following the departure of Chris Brogden earlier this week.

Lisa Edwards is leaving her creative director post at Lion to join Studio Ramsay, a joint venture between the celebrity chef and All3Media.

She takes up the chief creative officer role vacated by Brogden, whose return to Tinopolis as director of content was announced on Tuesday.

Edwards will start work next month and joins with the studio working on series including Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted for Nat Geo in the US and Born Famous for Channel 4 in the UK.

She will oversee the company’s existing slate and future growth, working with executive VP and head of current programming Elvia Van Es Oliva in the US and head of popular factual Helen Cooke in the UK.

Edwards was at Lion Television for more than two years where she led the team that secured new business including The Truth About… for BBC1, The Secret Life of the Holiday Resort, The World’s Most Luxurious Airline, 19, 20 & 21 Kids and Counting (all for Channel 4) and We Are British Jews for BBC2.

Prior to that she was director of programmes at Twenty Twenty Television and was responsible for shows including The Restaurant Man (BBC2), How Not to Get Old, Tom’s Fantastic Floating Home (both Channel 4) and The Best of British Takeaways (BB1).

Edwards also had a stint as a commissioning editor for BBC Factual, Features and Formats where she greenlit programmes including The Hairy Dieters, Nigellissima, The Supersizers Go and The House that £100k Built.
