Strong Productions taps TV2 Play chief content officer Sune Roland as CEO

Fremantle-owned Strong Productions has appointed TV2 Denmark’s executive Sune Roland as its CEO.

Roland will take over from the Copenhagen-based prodco’s interim CEO Morten Mogensen, who took the helm at Strong when former CEO Kristian Farcin-Leth left the company in April this year, on October 1.

Mogensen is CEO of This is Nice, the banner under which Fremantle’s Nordic production companies sit following its acquisition of 12 production labels from NENT Group last year.

It marks a return to the production business for Roland, who has spent the past nine years at TV2, both as programme director and channel manager for Zulu, Charlie and Fri, and most recently as chief content officer for streamer TV2 Play and TV2 Zulu.

He also has many years’ experience in the production industry, having previously worked at several production companies including Bastard Film, Metronome Productions and Koncern TV.

Mogensen, CEO at This is Nice Group, said: “His huge insight into what works with audiences, his eye for good content and his abilities as a leader make this the perfect match for Strong.”

Roland added: “I am really looking forward to getting on the producing side of the fence again and, through Strong’s skilled employees, being able to translate some of the knowledge I have acquired over the last seven years in my work with TV2 Play about what works on streaming.
