Strong Productions takes Japanese hide and seek format to Denmark

MIPCOM: VS School – The Ultimate Hide and Seek, the gameshow format produced by Japan’s Fuji Television Network, has been optioned for adaption in the Danish market by Fremantle-owned Strong Productions.

The announcement was made at Mipcom by Ryuji Komiya, head of international distribution for unscripted formats at Fuji TV, and Sune Roland, CEO at Strong Productions.

VS School – The Ultimate Hide and Seek is a segment from Fuji TV’s weekly variety programme The New Key.

The project first aired in 2022 and the game has since been held at 30 schools across Japan, with more than 100,000 applications received including schools from overseas such as the US, UAE, Europe and more.

The format launched globally at Mipcom 2023 and is a large scale hide and seek where eight celebrities hide amidst props from a whole school.

Strong Productions is based in Copenhagen and produces factual and reality television including well-known formats like Race Across The World, Hotel Romantik, Sort Your Life Out alongside own-development formats like The Lost Ones.
