Sternberg thinks up 13Brains

US producer Scott Sternberg has launched a company focusing on unscripted content and formats.

Sternberg, CEO and founder of LA-based unscripted specialist Scott Sternberg Productions, decided to start 13Brains after hosting an emerging producer workshop at Natpe Miami earlier this year.

The company is made up of 12 development executives from around the US plus Sternberg (the 13 ‘brains’), including producers, directors, editors, marketers, designers and writers, with a broad range of programming expertise. They are Joanna White-Oldham, Francie Black, Robert Seppala, Keith LeCreed Harris, Timothy Phares, Lizeth Pasillas, Garrett Mayersohn, Warren Robinson, Jason Gregory, Tamara Martin, Ellie Zambrano and Dan Nainan.

It currently has three formats in active development covering crime, gaming, reality and renovation, among other topics, for the domestic and international markets.

“I was so inspired by the ideas we conceptualised at Natpe that I wanted to take this to the next level,” said Sternberg. “I’m committed to finding and nurturing new talent in our industry and also appreciative of Natpe for creating a forum that gives new voices a chance to be heard.

“The three new formats 13Brains is developing are truly unique, and representative of the incredibly diverse group of people who conceptualised them.”

Recently, Scott Sternberg Productions linked up with gaming pioneer Atari to create a show based on iconic game Pong.
