Starz develops, titles Outlander prequel

Starz’s long-running historical drama Outlander

NEWS BRIEF: Lionsgate-owned US cablenet Starz has gone into development on its prequel to long-running historical drama series Outlander which will be titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood which will also be available on Starz in Canada and StarzPlay in Europe, Latin America and Brazil.

The drama will follow the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents and will be produced by Sony Pictures Television. Exec VP of original programming Karen Bailey will oversee the prequel on behalf of Starz. The Outlander television series is inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling books.
