Start-up Rainmaker names COO

Newly launched international distributor Rainmaker Content has appointed Kew Media Distribution alum Vicky Ryan as its chief operating officer.

Ryan is one of the founders of Rainmaker Content and the former exec VP of commercial affairs at Kew Media Distribution before the company collapsed earlier this year.

She joins Graham Begg, who founded Rainmaker Content with fellow former Kew Media exec Greg Phillips last month to focus on drama, factual and special event programming.

In related news, Rainmaker Content has secured the worldwide distribution rights to the Television Academy’s Emmy Awards, excluding the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The Emmy’s will air on ABC in the US on September 20.
