Spin Master appoints DHX’s Chapman

Canadian children’s company Spin Master Entertainment has appointed a former DHX Media territory manager as its senior director of sales and distribution.

Thom Chapman will report to Porsha Gauthier, VP of operations and legal, who oversees the Paw Patrol firm’s business affairs and operations.

Chapman will be responsible for shopping the company’s entertainment content across linear, non-linear and emerging platforms.

He will work with Jennifer Dodge, executive VP, Spin Master Entertainment, as well as with Spin Master’s business units for girls, preschool, boys and robotics.

Chapman joined DHX in 2013 and sold programming such as Peanuts, Bob the Builder, Strawberry Shortcake and Teletubbies to Netflix, Disney and Amazon and Chinese clients such as YouKu/Alibaba, iQiyi and Tencent. Prior to DHX, he worked for Toonbox Entertainment in Canada.

Spin Master creates, designs, manufactures, licenses and markets toys, games, products and entertainment properties such as Zoomer, Bakugan, Meccano, Hatchimals, Air Hogs and Paw Patrol.

The latter is broadcast in more than 160 territories globally. Spin Master employs more than 1,500 people globally with offices in Canada, the US, Mexico, France, Italy, the UK, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam and Australia.
