Stop-motion preschool series Sissi & Caesar

CARTOON FORUM: Spanish pubcasters RTVE and À Punt, and CNTV and TVN in Chile, have boarded an environment-focused stop-motion preschool series that was pitched at Cartoon Forum in Toulouse on Wednesday.

Coproduced by Spain’s Pangur Animation and Chile’s Tres Tercios, Sissi & Caesar (26×7′) aims to tackle ecological sustainability and climate change through an optimistic lens.

It is directed by Gabriela Villalobos and has received support from the Valencian Institute of Culture and Ibermedia.

Th plot follows two ‘rainbow penguins’ as they travel the world with a mission: to protect the colours of nature from the chromatic crisis. In the series, Sissi and Caesar explore the planet highlighting the beauty and wisdom of nature. Together with friendly local animals, they save the colours one by one.

Leticia Montalvá Sánchez, producer at Pangur Animation, told C21: “The show encourages young children to understand that even small actions can help improve the world around them. Beyond its narrative, the series also embraces a sustainable production approach, with a strong commitment to environmentally responsible stop-motion practices.”
