Sallent will oversee all Mediapro Studio offices and productions in the region, reporting to Marta Ezpeleta, director of international offices and distribution at Mediapro Studio.

In Latin America, the studio has been behind titles such as Victoria Small (Telefe), Siempre fui yo (Disney) and Club 57 (Nickelodeon), as well as the upcoming coproduction with Sony Pictures Television for Claro Video, Código implacable.

Sallent was previously director of television at Televisió de Catalunya (TV3) between 2012 and 2016, before joining Mediapro in 2016 and holding roles covering Colombia, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Slovenia.

During his time at Mediapro in Colombia, Sallent worked on series such as Yo Soy Franky and N00bees with Viacom International Studios for Nickelodeon Latin America.

Spanish giant Mediapro announced in 2019 plans to spend hundreds of millions of euros to bolster its international operations and expand its global production slate as part of its Mediapro Studio initiative.

“Eugeni’s appointment ensures continuity in our expansion and growth across the region, especially in Mexico where we have major production objectives in fictional TV and cinema and non-fiction,” said Laura Fernández Espeso, general director of Mediapro Studio.

Ezpeleta added: “Eugeni’s experience and knowledge of the Latin American market will bolster the studio’s activity in the region, as well as fostering cooperation between group offices in the region.”
