Spain’s Atresmedia reunites Alba team for new legal drama from Boomerang TV

Spanish media group Atresmedia has given the green light to Perdiendo el juicio (Losing the Trial), a new original series produced by Boomerang TV that reunites the team responsible for its successful drama Alba.

Elena Rivera

The 10×50’ legal drama will first be made available to subscribers to streamer Atresplayer’s premium plan, followed by a primetime release on broadcaster Antena 3.

It stars Elena Rivera (Alba, Cuéntame), as a prestigious lawyer who, after suffering a serious outbreak of obsessive-compulsive disorder during a trial, is forced to work in a run-down law firm.

Written by Susana López Rubio, Javier Holgado and Jaime Olías, the show is exec produced by Montse García of Atresmedia and Luis Santamaría of Boomerang, which is owned by French group Mediawan. It will begin filming in the coming weeks.

Alba, a Spanish adaptation of Turkish series Fatmagül, was a ratings success in Spain during its broadcast on Antena 3 in 2022. When it was later picked up by Netflix, it remained in the streamer’s top-10 non-English series for several weeks.
