Sony’s Pop Culture Jeopardy! jumps from Amazon to Netflix for second season

Pop Culture Jeopardy! debuted on Prime Video

US gameshow series Pop Culture Jeopardy! is moving from Amazon-owned streamer Prime Video to Netflix for its second season.

The show, which is produced by Sony Pictures Television (SPT), will return for its sophomore season exclusively on Netflix in 2026 after its first run debuted on Prime Video in December 2024.

Pop Culture Jeopardy! puts a twist on the 61-year-old classic syndicated gameshow Jeopardy!’s answer-and-question format, with contestants testing their knowledge on a variety of categories in a tournament-style event for a grand prize.

Colin Jost, who hosted S1, is in talks to return for S2, according to multiple reports. Michael Davies is the executive producer.

It is rare for a show to bounce from one of the major streamers to another, and it is understood that the move comes as Amazon is adjusting its strategy for gameshows. According to Variety, Prime Video reached an agreement with SPT that allowed SPT to look for a new home for the show.

“Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic game play, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge,” said Suzanne Prete, president of gameshows at SPT.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix, to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers.”
