Sony Germany looks beyond the quizshow

ROSE D'OR NEWS – As Sony preps its new fall season shows in LA, across the pond in Montreux its German production division is competing for a comedy award at the Rose d'Or festival, with its own creation Ohne Worte (Speechless).

Sony Pictures Film und Fernseh Produktions’ internet and light entertainment exec Henning Pelkmann is also screening a range of programming in Montreux to find new projects that will move {the gameshow genre beyond quizzes.{

Sony Germany is currently in production with a show for Pro7 called Buero/Buero (working title) – a character-driven sitcom. {We're working on projects that reflect normal daily life but give it a new twist,{ said Pelkmann.

Marcus Ernst, manager of light entertainment at Sony Pictures Productions GmbH and Ohne Worte’s exec producer, is with Pelkmann this week on the look-out for the next big thing.
