Something Special promotes InSoon Kim to co-CEO and chief business officer

South Korean format agency Something Special has promoted InSoon Kim to co-CEO and chief business officer.

Kim was previously exec VP and head of content. Prior to joining Something Special in 2019, she held roles at Digital Media Content Formatting Lab, CJ ENM, SBS and the latter’s subsidiary FormatEast.

Her credits include Star Junior Show, Genius Game, Super Diva, 3 Idiots, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Running Man, Fantastic Duo, Fan Wars and The Power.

Meanwhile, Something Special has promoted head of development Moonyoung Song to VP. Song joined the company in 2021, leading international co-development projects and developing original unscripted IPs including Unforgettable Duet and The Underdogs (working title).

Something Special has also appointed Donggil Seo as head of production and chief producer, replacing Jacob (Jongbin) Han, who recently left the company. Seo is a former development producer at Remarkable TV in the UK and also previously worked at JTBC, Studio C1 and Channel A in South Korea. Seo’s credits include Ready, Cook, Deliver, City Angler and Vocalplay: Campus Music Olympiad.
