Snipple expands studio offer, appoints Mike Hegarty to head int’l partnerships

Philippines- and UK-based animation studio Snipple is expanding its business to offer all aspects of 2D animated series production, including creative development and pre- and post-production services.

To lead the move, Snipple has appointed Mike Hegarty as head of international partnerships, focusing on expanding the company’s global footprint, driving growth through strategic partnerships with studios, streamers, producers and directors across the world, and delivering new pre- and post-production services in the UK and North America.

Hegarty joins from Canadian animation company House of Cool, where he was head of sales and partnerships from 2018 until June this year. Prior to that, he was a sales partner for North America at Toon Boom Animation.

Hegarty will be based in Canada and report to Snipple’s CEO, Kaine Patel.

Snipple’s portfolio of animation includes Titmouse, Hamster & Gretel, Beavis & Butt-Head, StuGo, Primos, Proud Family, Jellystone, Bugs Builders, Porky & Daffy, Phineas & Ferb and Scooby Doo DTV.

Its production studio is based in Manila, while the original content arm it launched in 2019 is in London. Snipple Originals’ slate of 16 shows includes The Woohoos! (57×7’), commissioned by Paramount-owned Channel 5’s Milkshake!, and The Singalings (26×5’), which was acquired by Sky Kids.
