Small World adds Zodiak exec

LA- and London-based formats company Small World IFT has appointed a Zodiak Rights exec to leads its European formats sales operation.

Tara Gaule, formerly VP of sales at Zodiak Rights which recently merged with Banijay, joins as VP of format sales and development in Europe and will be based in Small World’s London office, reporting to president Tim Crescenti.

In her previous role, Gaule was responsible for sales of factual, formats and drama programming across a range of territories including Germany, Middle East and French-speaking Canada.

Prior to this, she was senior sales executive at Digital Rights Group, managing sales of factual, formats, drama and film content in Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Australia and Japan.

Meanwhile, Small World has promoted sales executive Henny Adolfsdottir to manage sales for the Nordics, Baltics, Turkey, Greece and Poland.

“Tara brings fantastic knowledge and enthusiasm to the role, as well as a wealth of contacts in key European territories,” said Crescenti.

“We have grown our European business tremendously in the last few years and as we know Europe is a crucial market,” he added.

“To keep the momentum growing, we have a terrific slate of new properties, including Jiangsu’s Super Combat Teams, alongside proven successes such as Got What It Takes?, fresh from its ratings winning air on the UK’s CBBC, and Better Late Than Never soon to debut on NBC, so the opportunities to bring these great formats to new audiences are huge.”
