Comcast-owned Sky in the UK is looking for stranger-than-fiction factual content, contemporary history, sports access films and pop culture icon profiles, according to director of documentaries and factual Poppy Dixon.

The exec, who has overseen titles like David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived  – a copro with HBO and Lightbox Pictures – plus Noah Media’s Bafta-winning feature on the boxer Ricky Hatton, spoke to Neil Batey about her present programming priorities.

Dixon also talked about Sky’s upcoming factual highlights, plus her advice for producers struggling in the current economic climate and thoughts on artificial intelligence.
