SkyD stocks up with Sony

German pay-TV provider Sky Deutschland will air shows from Sony Pictures Television (SPT) for the first time after securing a new long-term multi-platform deal with the US studio.

As part of the multi-year agreement, which covers Germany and Austria, SkyD will have rights to first-run series and catalogue titles from SPT.

The broadcaster also has exclusive pay-TV and SVoD rights to all upcoming feature films from SPT for all distribution channels including satellite, cable, IPTV, its on-demand service Sky Anytime and mobile app Sky Go.

Forthcoming movie titles include Men in Black 3, The Amazing Spider-Man 3D, Total Recall, Django Unchained and Underworld: Awakening.

SkyD earlier this year secured a “milestone” three-year movie deal with Warner Bros, and has previously picked up US and European movies from Tele München Group.
