Sky Kids in the UK has commissioned a science and history series presented by YouTube stars The Slow Mo Guys and ordered a second season of educational rap show MC Grammar’s Wonder Raps.

Premiering on September 1 and aimed at children aged eight and over, The Slow Mo Guys’ Big Adventures (10×22’) sees Gavin Free and Daniel Gruchy set out to uncover mysteries from the past and recreate some of history’s most explosive moments.

The show will take viewers on a time-travel adventure, with historical animations written by the creator of Horrible Histories, Terry Deary, setting the scene for experiments filmed in slow motion.

Kids will also have the chance to access tutorials to join in the fun and try out their very own experiments at home, all while finding out fun facts along the way.

The series is directed by David Soutar and executive produced by Fulwell 73 founder Gabe Turner and senior development exec Sheldon Lazarus.

MC Grammar’s Wonder Raps, meanwhile, is also aimed at the eight-plus demographic and will return for a second 10×5’ series on August 26.

The series combines Key Stage 2 subjects with cool tunes and aims to teach children about topics including the Tudors, oceans and healthy eating.

Monkey is the production company, with founder David Granger exec producing and Nick Withers series producing.
