Sky Italia orders trafficking doc from Espresso, Rai visits Amazonia Undercover

Surviving Sex Trafficking for Sky Italia

Public broadcaster Rai and pay TV operator Sky Italia are among the Italian networks to have picked up factual content from UK distributor Espresso Media International.

Rai has licensed environmental documentary Amazonia Undercover (1×90’/1×72’). The feature, from Brazil’s first carbon-neutral production house, Pindorama Filmes, was previously picked up by Franco-German cultural broadcaster Arte. It follows a band of Indigenous and riverside people leading the fight against land grabbers and illegal deforestation in an effort to save the Amazon rainforest.

Streamer ITsART’s Elio Fiorucci: Free Spirit

Amazonia Undercover will air in early 2023 on Rai 3’s primetime slot focused on the planet and environment.

Sky Italia has picked up Surviving Sex Trafficking (1×70’/1×52’), which examines the ongoing struggles of trafficking survivors, whilst The Black Full Monty (1×45’), which previously aired on Channel 4, follows the UK’s first all-black touring strip dancing group.

Finally, ITsART, a streaming platform dedicated to Italian art and culture and supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, has taken Elio Fiorucci: Free Spirit (1×52’), which focuses on the Italian fashion designer known for his concept stores and for having democratised fashion.
