Sky Germany, AMC+ dig up Movistar+ treasure hunt drama La Fortuna

La Fortuna (The Fortune) features an international cast

Sky in Germany and AMC+ in multiple territories have picked up Movistar+’s original Spanish-language drama La Fortuna (The Fortune), directed by Alejandro Amenábar, from German distributor Beta Film.

The six-part series will premiere in Germany on December 24 on the Sky platform. It will arrive in Latin America on January 16, the UK on January 17 and US on January 22 through AMC+, the premium content offering from AMC Networks.

In addition, the series will air next year in Australia on public broadcaster SBS.

La Fortuna is an original Movistar+ production in association with AMC Studios, in collaboration with MOD Pictures .

From today, a new version of La Fortuna is available on Movistar+ with dialogue entirely in Spanish. The series is set in Spain and the US and features actors of different nationalities, so the original version includes dialogue in both Spanish and English.

The drama stars Álvaro Mel as young diplomat Álex Ventura and Ana Polvorosa as Lucía, his work and adventure partner. The international cast includes Stanley Tucci as treasure hunter Frank Wild, Clarke Peters as attorney Jonas Pierce and T’Nia Miller as attorney Susan McLean.

The series follows a young and inexperienced diplomat who finds himself leading a mission that will put all his convictions to the test as he tries to recover treasure stolen by an adventurer.
