Sky Crime takes The Torso Killer Confessions for the UK from Cineflix Rights

True crime two-parter The Torso Killer Confessions

Sky Crime in the UK has acquired Cineflix Productions’ two-part true-crime special The Torso Killer Confessions following the show’s recent launch in the US on A&E.

Set to air in the UK on September 3, The Torso Killer Confessions focuses on serial killer Richard Cottingham, who murdered at least 18 young women and girls in New York and New Jersey between 1967 and 1980.

It features Cottingham admitting to the previously unsolved murder of Mary Ann Della Sala from 1967. The cold case confession was made during audio interviews conducted by detective Robert Anzilotti, who worked on the original homicide cases.

The special is produced by Cineflix Productions in association with A&E Network. Sandra Piha, Cineflix Rights‘ senior VP of sales, pan-regional, UK, Ireland and Scandinavia, brokered the deal with Sky UK.

Jacqueline Bynon, Anzilotti, J C Mills and Sherri Rufh serve as executive producers, while executive producers for A&E Network are Elaine Frontain, Bryant Brad Abramson and Maitee Cueva.

Cineflix Productions’ slate of feature-length documentaries includes: Summer Qamp, a profile of Camp fYrefly, an arts-based retreat for LGBTQIA2S+ youth in the Canadian Rockies; and the Nancy Buirski-directed Desperate Souls, Dark City & the Legend of Midnight Cowboy, which goes behind-the-scenes of how the 1969 film Midnight Cowboy was made.
