Sky Arts play for Pinter, Dyer doc

Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family

Sky Arts in the UK has ordered a documentary from BBC Studios (BBCS) that will see soap star Danny Dyer explore the life of playwright Harold Pinter.

Danny Dyer on Pinter (1×60′) marks BBCS’s first commission from Sky and will see the actor explore Pinter’s life.

Dyer appeared in two of Pinter’s plays and formed a friendship with the Nobel Prize-winning English writer.

Phil Edgar-Jones, director of Sky Arts, said: “At Sky Arts, we always want to unlock the craft of artists in new and unusual ways, so having Danny Dyer’s unique and personal take on Harold Pinter is a very special treat.”

The executive producer for BBCS is Rob Unsworth and the producer is Ian Denyer. It is commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones and Bill Hobbins for Sky Arts.

Dyer has previously featured in BBC factual series Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family, which sees the actor look at his ancestry.
