Shudder takes Globo’s Night Shifter

The Night Shifter was directed by Dennison Ramalho

AMC Networks-owned SVoD service Shudder has acquired a feature-length project from the commercial arm of Brazilian broadcast giant Globo.

The Night Shifter is set to be made available on Shudder in the US, the UK, Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand and Canada next month.

It will be offered in Portuguese, with subtitles in local languages, or dubbed in German for select countries.

The Night Shifter follows a man who can speak with the dead and works night shifts at a morgue in a large and violent city.

Directed by Dennison Ramalho, the film debuted at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal and was also screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the London Film Festival and the Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya.

The deal comes after Globo last year licensed the Brazilian version of prison drama Supermax to Shudder.
