Showtime to put on Yellowjackets pilot

US cablenet Showtime has ordered a pilot of plane crash survival drama Yellowjackets.

The coming-of-age horror story follows members of a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness and goes on to trace their lives 25 years after the accident.

Yellowjackets was created and written by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, who also executive produce alongside Drew Comins for Creative Engine, and Karyn Kusama, who is set to direct the pilot. The show will be a copro between Showtime and Hasbro-owned producer and distributor Entertainment One.
