Showtime takes US rights to ITV Studios thriller series The Guest and Coldwater

Paramount-owned US network Showtime has picked up the domestic rights to a pair of UK thrillers, The Guest and Coldwater, from ITV Studios.

The Guest, produced by ITV Studios-backed Quay St Productions (Fool Me Once, Nolly) for BBC One, will debut on Paramount+ in the US on October 17 before making its linear bow on Showtime on October 19.

Coldwater, which is produced by Black Doves and This Is Going to Hurt producer Sister, will debut in the US in early 2026, although a date has not yet been announced.

Written by Matthew Barry (Men Up, Industry), The Guest is a four-parter starring Eve Myles and Gabrielle Creevy as two unlikely friends whose lives begin to unravel.

Coldwater, from creator and writer David Ireland (The Lovers, Ulster American), stars Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead, Love Actually) as a normal man who finds himself in a far from normal situation when he falls under the influence of someone incredibly dangerous.

“Our buyers told us what they wanted: intense, attention-grabbing thrillers, so we set out to find the best and I’m excited for these two incredible titles to begin their global journeys,” said Tom Clark, executive VP of global sales and commercial strategy at ITV Studios.
