Showtime examines Lana Clarkson’s murder in Phil Spector docuseries

US cablenet Showtime is set to premiere a docuseries about convicted murderer and former music producer Phil Spector.

Spector (4×60′) is directed by Sheena M Joyce and Don Argott (Framing John Delorean). All four episodes of the docuseries will be released on Showtime’s on-demand platform on November 4.

Spector examines the events of February 3, 2003, when actress Lana Clarkson was shot dead by Spector, one of the most influential music producers of the 20th century. Sentenced to 19 years to life for Clarkson’s murder, Spector died last year.

The docuseries is produced by Lightbox for Paramount-owned Showtime in association with Sky Documentaries. It is executive produced by Oscar nominee Jonathan Chinn (LA 92) and Oscar winners Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man) and James Marsh (Man on Wire, The Night Of).

Stephen Neely (Goodnight Oppy) also exec produces, along with Poppy Dixon and Jack Oliver for Sky, while Janet Ginsburg produces. Fifth Season (fka Endeavor Content) is handling sales rights outside of the UK and US.
