Shiver warms to Channel 4 alum

ITV Studios-owned UK prodco Shiver has appointed a former Channel 4 executive as its head of factual entertainment.

Simone Haywood

Simone Haywood takes up the newly created role as Shiver’s new MD Tim Carter looks to increase the prodco’s focus on factual entertainment.

Previously, Haywood was commissioning editor at pubcaster Channel 4 and was responsible for a number of cult entertainment shows including E4’s Celebs Go Dating, Tattoo Fixers and Too Posh To Parent.

She was also responsible for commissioning the forthcoming reboot of reality competition series Shipwrecked 2018 and The Super Salon.

Before joining Channel 4 in 2013, Haywood served as executive producer at All3Media-owned UK prodco Maverick Television, working on series including Operation Ouch! and My Super Sweet World Class.

In her new role she will work with group creative director Ana De Moraes, who joined the firm in January from ITV-owned Twofour Group.

Haywood’s appointment follows a period of sustained reshuffling at the top of the prodco following Carter and De Moraes’s arrival, and that of Aidan Hansell from Love Productions in May.

Commenting on her arrival, Carter said Haywood’s record of creating both popular and commercially successful shows were key. In turn, Haywood said she couldn’t turn down the opportunity to join Shiver at such an exciting time and was looking forward to creating a “new generation” of factual entertainment series.
