Shine taps into Talpa formats

Shine Group’s Iberian division has signed a wide-ranging coproduction deal with John de Mol’s Talpa that will see reality format The Voice broadcast in Portugal.

The agreement will see Shine gain exclusive access to remake Talpa’s formats in Spain and Portugal, with the shows being coproduced by the Netherlands-based firm.

The Portuguese version of The Voice will be aired by local broadcaster RTP and has been slated for debut during the spring.

Talpa’s other formats include reality shows, talent programmes, scripted series and gameshows, including Utopia which has been broadcast on SBS in the Netherlands and is being produced for Fox in the US.

Shine Iberia currently makes MasterChef for La1 in Spain and has also produced local versions of entertainment format Slide Show (Me Resbala and Vale Tudo) and factual series Service with a Smile (Con Una Sonrisa).
