Claiming to be the first direct-to-consumer streaming service dedicated to Arabic content, Shahid VIP will launch in the US and Canada on November 1 with over 25,000 hours of content.

Aimed at the millions of Arabic speakers living in the two countries, it will feature movies and series as well as exclusive originals and live access to MBC’s TV channels.

Throughout November, Shahid VIP will be free to North American subscribers for the first 30 days, then US$8.99 a month or US$79.99 a year in the US and C$9.99 (US$7.50) a month or C$89.99 a year in Canada.

MBC shows on Shahid VIP include the local versions of The Voice, The Voice Kids, The Voice Senior, Arab Idol, Arabs Got Talent and Family Feud.

Shahid VIP launched across the MENA region in January 2020 and has over 1.4 million subscribers, according to MBC. It has since launched in the UK and across Europe.

“Shahid VIP’s launch in North America delivers a line-up of top-rated series and movies that will make Arabic speakers feel very much at home,” said Luis Duran, chief commercial officer of Shahid VIP.

Shahid VIP will be available commercial-free on any compatible device, including smart TVs, streaming media players, Android, iOS or desktops.
