Fon, who has been in the industry for nearly three decades, will join Shaftesbury’s creative team, tasked with sourcing and developing new content and seeking broadcasters and distribution partners to finance it. She starts in the role today and will be based in Montreal and Toronto.

During her time as VP and exec producer at Rezolution, Fon worked on projects including Little Bird (Crave, APTN, Fremantle), which was acquired recently by PBS in the US, comedy series Mohawk Girls and documentary feature Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World.

Shaftesbury, led by chairman and president Christina Jennings, produces series including Murdoch Mysteries for the CBC, ITV Studios and UKTV; Hudson & Rex for Citytv; horror anthology series Slasher for AMC Networks-owned streamer Shudder; and the Ireland-Canada coproduction SisterS for Crave, RTÉ and IFC.

“After dedicating over 20 years to Rezolution Pictures, I’m thrilled to bring my experience and passion to a new environment in the world of television production,” said Fon.

Jennings added: “Her passion for storytelling and excellence is well known in our business. She is a respected executive whose track record speaks for itself, including the most recent success with Little Bird.”
